Thank you Lionnel 🙂It was a moments idea to take a drive and test the possible distance between the modules, but now that I saw how far they can go, I will design a LORA GPS Tracker to my specs and taste and will do further tests, including tracking some of my cats 🙂

Hi Adam, it sure is a great tool 🙂 One could say this project is a ""Jack of all Trades, if I remember the saying correctly 🙂I also really like the web radio one can build easily with the ESP32 or the 8266 for that matter. Found a nice code that uses an OLED and have to rewrite it to use the TFT display and I am all set. It's great to be able to listen to the 80's and 90's music, as I find the "new" music rather stressing or maybe I am getting old, which is definitely true, lol. It's also nice how one can combine the different sensors to get the best user experience. For example using the radar sensor to dim the display when not in the room, mute the radio or use the CO2 sensor for easy monitoring the air quality by turning the display background color from green to red in various yellow or orange shades, while still using the display for other purposes, or display a skull when things get worse 🙂this comes from me liking skull rings for some reason, I even have one dangling from my rear view mirror inside the car. As for the OFT knife, my goal is to make my own of course, the blade part for sure, the aluminum handle not sure yet, might just have to get it CNC'ed as that would save my patience and time, haha. Technically I could also make the case in layers, by using flat aluminum profile which I do have some, then it would consist of 5 layers instead of 3 when 3D printing. Those I could file / grind to shape or cut with the Mini Mill. Anyway, a lot to do, many projects going on, many problems to solve but we will get there eventually. Have a great week my friend 🙂

It surely is a nice product. There are many different sized displays available, just need to check what will work best for your project. I agree 450x600 pixel is a lot, and I see the ESP32 S3 coming to it's limit with fast screen refresh. Again, it will depend on your needs and skills to make the most out of it. I still have not found a particular use for it, for now it is sitting on my desk till a light bulb in my head comes on to use it for something special :-)

Thanks Adam, while doing all these PCB projects including another (ESP32, Display, Radar sensor, MEMS Mic, Speaker and CO2 sensor) based product which I have not shown yet, I am working on my own OTF Knife design. Of course I could "just" buy a Chinese knockoff, as the original American made are way too expensive for me. But I thought where is the fun in buying when you can design and build your own, 😂 Although I still have to finish my Tanto knife, which in the meantime underwent a redesign on looks way cooler now 🙂Got more kittens as well and had to give blood to my wife's grandfather who was in the hospital the past 4 weeks, with my wife staying with him as he can not move or care for himself anymore, 200 miles from home. Hi Michael, I have not ordered the breakout board yet and need enough interest in it to make it financially feasible. This is where a Kickstarter like website would come in handy, but I am not allowed to create a funding project from Bulgaria, although they would greedily take my money to fund somebody else's project. If I do get enough people willing to buy the breakout board, I will order it and make another video showing it and giving the link to it.

@@iHayri1 Don't rush. I contacted Lilygo about the same thing. They say they will list a similar board, possibly, next week. That might really reduce your sales volume. But thanks for helping. What is really lacking is cases for these beauties. Of course, each use might be different so case design is a big problem.

I just checked the website and there is no indication about refresh rate, which tells me it is not 120Hz otherwise they most likely would have mentioned it. So I assume it is 50 or 60 Hz.

I hear you, I have also display boards "piling" up, including my own :-) It definitely has a gorgeous high resolution display. It would be a shame not using it for a project/gadget. Right now it is serving me as a weather forecast, attached to my USB hub for power. I am open for any suggestions 🙂Stay safe.

Thanks Jim, yep, I always do that and it helped me a couple of times noticing too close placements of components so far. Also it gives me a real sense of size, since designing the PCB is being done zoomed in most of the time. Actually I am also working on a design for a client, that is made of 3 PCB's that are attached to each other in 90 degree angles and having a paper mockup is very helpful. Stay safe.

@@iHayri1 I will likely deploy this technique in the future. This seems particularly valuable when I am trying to shrink prototypes. I've done about 20 basic thru hole PCB's but I'm looking to take it to the next level starting with some STM32 boards. The paper technique will also be particularly helpful when it comes to reasonably placing connectors and whatnot. Thanks so much!

Thank you Adam for your lovely comment 🙂This PCB opens up many different possibilities. I do look forward to using the round display. But I can't wait to welding and making my first knife. Will go with a different design as before, as it looks so much better than the tanto design I had. As for the welding table, I might have to screw it together first by laying it down on my marble table, as it is the only flat surface I have, and then additionally weld it to make it more secure. The legs will be detachable so I can store it easier. I have practically 2 things left to buy, an anvil and a welding helmet, both I can not make myself 🙂to get my setup complete. Maybe someone will sponsor me a garage/workshop as I have no room to put these things, haha, joke obviously. Anyway, all my best to you and your family as well and I will also make some videos with the kittens (had 5 more) 🙂

Thanks Adam, at first I was very sad, thinking it broke and because of the spacer needed, but then it was nice to be able to fix the movement (might just take one apart and try to put it back together just for fun) and then seeing 3D printed chapter rings the rest was a breeze and I love the new one just as much. Currently wearing the Samurai during the day and the "Seamaster" during the night, haha. I love lume as well, the more the better :-) I guess the next build would be a NH36 with lumed date and day ring, lumed bezel and lumed chapter ring. That should be pretty bright 🙂Oh, and a colored AR coated domed crystal to top it off, just have to decide on a case. Anyway, have a great week my friend 🙂

Holy Shit, almost fell out of my chair, amazing how much people are willing to spend on a wrist watch, that "just" tells the time. I know of course about the different materials such as Gold, Diamonds and what not being used. Thank you Adam, it sure is fun to create your own personal watch with all the options out there. Now I need to find a good way making the videos better and possibly shooting them in 4K. Btw, I did also buy a Gasless Flux Core welder, which to be honest did not even know existed, always thought they only work with gas and the regular stick welder seemed to be not as accurate to work with. The Flux Core kinda combines the best of both worlds, although I know that there are many other welding methods like TIG, MIG and what else is out there, which cost way more and not in my budget. This welder costs about $100.00 new and I did find a slightly used one for $75.00, but next time I will fork the dough for a new one 🙂 Anyway, we also have 5 new kitten babies. So a lot of things happening, plus also some not too good news about my wife's granddad. But we have to stay positive 🙂 Stay safe my friend.
